Relaxing Swedish Massage

The term Swedish massage refers to a collection of techniques designed primarily to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. The lymph system and veins (which carry blood back to the heart) both rely on muscle action, rather than heart pump pressure, to operate. Many believe it is safe to apply light pressure in the opposite direction.

Swedish Massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system while at the same time relaxing the nerves themselves. As it can help reduce emotional and physical stress it is often recommended as part of a regular program for stress management. It also has specific clinical uses in a medical or remedial therapy.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is also a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots (also known as “adhesions”).

Reflexology

A natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears and their referral areas within zone related areas, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes without the use of tools, crèmes or lotions, the feet being the primary area of application, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and helps promote the natural function of the related areas of the body.

Eyelash Extensions

We use Novalash glues and synthetic lashes. Their Platinum Bond glue is the strongest and most flexible permanant eyelash glue on the market, but we also carry a sensitive , fume-free formula. The glue, when bonded correctly, will keep the extension attatched to your eyelash until it naturally falls out. Each eyelash extension in glued to ONE of your own hairs. There will be no clumping and in turn, no pulling. The full life cycle of an eyelash is 6 weeks. Any lashes that do not achieve a good bond will fall in the first couple of days, but the rest will fall out just as they normally would.

You can fill the eyelashes in as they fall out, every 2-4 weeks if you wish to wear the extensions continually. We can make them as flashy or natural as you like! We have many different types of extensions from the incredibly lightweight to jetblack, thick, and curly. Tell us what you don’t like about your eyelashes and we’ll give you what you want!

Mud Mask Treatment

With three different treatments to choose from, there is a service for every need.

Moor mud is unique because it has evolved over 20,000 years. More than 1,000 herbs, plants, grasses and flowers have decomposed into the waters, turning it into a nutritious soup of vitamins, minerals, plant-based hormones and other phytonutrients.

Central Europeans prize the mud for its natural healing ability, hence its popularity with doctors and vets. A moor product is even used in Austrian casualty departments as a treatment for burns. Research has shown that the mud can help to improve the circulation, soothe aching muscles and reduce swelling in joints. Some claim that drinking it can calm and heal the gut. Others even believe it can help infertility. What is certain is that the mud acts as a natural exfoliator and also hydrates the body. As the mud contains essential oils, fats and lipids, it is able to penetrate the skin with ease and many people swear it helps smooth away wrinkles and rejuvenate the skin.

Kaolin Clay is found in virtually all powdered and dry cosmetics and most wet cosmetics. Its natural absorbent properties makes it essential in hygiene products and is often found in soaps, scrubs, poultices, deodorants, facial powders and masks. It is the mildest of all clays and is suitable to add to products created for people with sensitive skin. It helps stimulate circulation to the skin while gently exfoliating and cleansing it. It does not draw oils from the skin, so it can also be used on dry skin types without negative results. Kaolin Clay is high in calcium, silica, zinc and magnesium, which are beneficial for oily, blemished skin. The clay’s mildly drying and disinfectant properties help heal existing blemishes and inflammations, while preventing new ones from forming.

Traditionally, clays are used to reduce swelling and inflammation, and to draw impurities from the skin.
